Today we received several new submissions in our inbox. Probably due to the ad we placed on NewPages.com. We are excited to see so many new writers out there, and a few of the “old” ones too, sending in their work for consideration on Joey the “Re-BOOT.”
Publishing poetry was something we enjoyed doing and were sad when we decided to give it up. We lost contact with a lot of friends. This was before Facebook was a thing. Email hadn’t really taken hold yet either. Most of our communications happened through the good old-fashioned USPS. But it was a good time to take a break. Even good things need a recharge once in a while. They say (whoever they are) that absence makes the heart grow fonder. I think, absence allows you to decide if you really miss something or not.
Well, we are excited to begin making our way back into the press, no matter what form it may take in these modern days of electronic publications and print-on-demand services. We are always excited to see what sorts of things people are writing and encourage anyone to submit poetry, short prose, or artwork to us.
We have not set an official deadline or publishing date for the RE-BOOT, but I imagine it will be toward the end of the year. It is going to take a little time to get the old ball rolling again.
Please send your writer friends our way! Submission guidelines are —> here.
